General News

Nominate your favorite performers for the
2nd Annual Singer Showcase & Revue at Barrymore's

We’re putting over 40 of our best singers on the Barrymore’s stage for our 2nd DOG & PONY Sound Singer Showcase and Revue.

Who is eligible to sing on the Barrymore’s stage?
All Dog & Pony Pals are eligible. A D&P Pal is a singer who has supported D&P by attending shows at 2 or more different venues. We have posted photos of all of our D&P Pals on our website. You may choose up to 25 of your favorite singers. [see pals photos]

By choosing up to 25 people (in order of your preference) you not only help to support this event but you also have a hand in the programming.

Who will sing? You decide. You pick the singers you want to hear perform on this historic stage. The top 3 singers who obtain the highest number of peer votes will perform 3 songs each, the next 2 will perform 2 songs each and 40 more performers will each have the opportunity to perform on the Barrymore’s stage during a 4 hour, non stop talent extravaganza.

Who may vote?
Everyone! If you have a favorite singer or singers you may vote.
Each person may submit only one ballot. However, you may vote for up to 25 different people on that ballot. You may not vote for the same person more than once.

FEBRUARY 2005

Happy Valentines Day!

This year we'll be celebrating Valentine's Day at Swizzles on Sunday the 13th (the kissing starts at midnight) ;)

Well Christmas and New Years have come and gone. And January 31st marked our Annual "Dog Day Celebration". This year we partied up a storm at Swizzles.
301 years and counting. Apparently, an old dog can be taught new tricks (who knew?)

Spring is not too far now.
The LookOut even threw an impromtu beach party karaoke night in anticipation.

Pal News

Pal of The Month
Pierre Perrier
(a.k.a. petey)

Congratulations to Marcel & Marie-France on their 1st year anniversary.

Congratulations to our Miss Kitty. Moe is now the official treasurer for The Pride committee. A huge undertaking.

Everyone at O'BRIEN's knows the hard work Grant has put in as promotions manager. He brought a karaoke inspired murder mystery to Obeez New Years Eve. And he is the man behind all the fun offerings; poker, euchre, darts, pool and more! Now Grant has brought poker and euchre tournys to THE BRIG PUB as well.

Congratulations to Steve Muss whose hard work and determinism (as well as enormous talent) has landed his band Sandstorm numerous gigs these past few months as well a radio spot and a contract to play the Ottawa 67's hockey games. Steve is heading to Vermont this month to contribute to a concert for Tsunami Relief. [sandstorm website]

Thanks to Adam (Vic Viscount)for adding a new way cool disk of Peter Allen showtunes to library 42.

Yay! Scotty the cougar (on account of his sleak cougar-like body) has come out of hiding and is back to his nogoodnik ways.

Thanks Richie the Hound for volunteering his services on Dog's Birthday. We couldn't have done it without him.

Happy Birthday February Pals: Petey "Pete" Perrier on the 9th, Les on the 10th, Liam (Dingo) will be celebrating his 30th birthday at Swizzles on Friday the 11th, Andrew (the puppy) on the 13th, MikeM on the 18th, and Adam (Vic Viscount) will be celebrating on the 26th. phew!
